On Saturday 29th August, 3 of our 6 senior teams played off in their respective Grand Finals. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the results we wanted on the day.
In D2 (The Old Boys) faced off against Glen Iris for the second time in the finals.
It was a very good game played by both teams but the boys fell just short 3-2.
Our A4 team were pitted against Heathmont (for a second time) after we defeated them in week one of the finals.
Heathmont jumped out early and fought off a spirited come back from our boys. Unfortunately, we gave them too much of a head start with the final score 9-6.
In A3, we were up against a strong GMBC who were finishing the season in great form.
A few mistakes early on from us and GMBC were able to capitalise and put the game beyond doubt. Although we fought to the end we just couldn’t make up the lost ground and found ourselves on the wrong end of a 10-3 scoreline.
Congratulations to Glen Iris, Heathmont and GMBC, well deserved wins as they played the better baseball on the day.
To our D2, A4 & A3 teams, well done, playing finals is a great achievement. With so many of our younger players getting an opportunity to experience finals baseball, the club is in a good position to challenge across multiple grades next season.
Thank you to the mangers, scores, families and friends for their support throughout the 2015 season.
