Recap: Round 7, 31st May

Round 7 produced 6 wins for the club with our juniors once again leading the way. For some teams however,  the break next weekend might just be what the doctor ordered.

A1 & A2 travelled out to Essendon and came away empty handed. A2 fell just short losing 3-4.

A1 have been playing much better ball recently but haven’t gotten the rewards just yet. Essendon are justifying their promotion to Division 1 and were too good this time winning 8-4.

Our A3 and A4 teams continue to improve and while the results have been yo-yoing a little, the effort is becoming more consistent and multiple wins are surely just around the corner.

Unfortunately this week A3 went down to a very strong Waverley 13-1 and A4 dropped another close one 6-4.

Both C1 & C2 had good wins against Wheelers Hill.

C1 with a win, 13 – 1. Michael Legg (In his first start for the season) and Aaron Holloway did a great job on the bump. All boys battled hard in the box. Things went our way today. Fielding was very good again.

In C2, Declan High pitched very well (again) after Wheelers Hill scored twice in the first inning. Young James Wolstencroft played another very good game with the younger kids getting it done on the field and in the box. The older boys went well too. Final score 10-3.

Our ‘Old Boys’ had some help this week and shall know be known simply as D2. Although their win streak cam to an end it wasn’t a total loss with a 6 all draw with Forest Hill.

Our Junior teams continue to develop with the first season players adapting really well to their new sport.

This week:
Under 17 defeated Cheltenham Blue 6-4
Under 15 won 7-5 against Knox
Under 13 also had a win against Knox 10-3

There are no games next weekend (Queen’s Birthday long weekend), so enjoy the time off (or find a tee somewhere) and come back recharged and ready for round 8.
